XxWhoDeyxX85, XHolySchnikiesX, and myself (Hughes03) decided that we should start having a member of the week. Each week on Sunday, the 3 of us (the chairmen) will get together and decide who should be our member of the week. We’ll base our decision on all sorts of things such as, who was most active on the website, who played the most, most improved, among other things. If you have someone you’d like to nominate, leave a message on the forum or send any of us a message on Xbox Live saying who you’d like to nominate and why. These nominations will be taken into account when we are making the decision. We will be adding some sort of marker on the members page to show how many times you’ve been chosen as the Gears of War Addict Member of The Week but we haven’t quite decided on that yet. Stay tuned…Anyway, on to our first pick…

Our first Gears of War Addict Member of The Week is SnugTasslehoff. Snug was pretty impressive this week. Snug spent a lot of time playing in general and with all of the clan members. After coming in third a week ago in our first Gears of War Addict tournament, Snug played enough to be in the top 500 on annex on Gears of War 2. Snug is a great player and I look forward to pwning more n00bs with him in the near future. Congrats SnugTasslehoff!

Well, our first tournament is over. It was fun while it lasted. Above you can see the top 3 and below you can see the entire bracket. In this tournament we had 3 rankings up for grabs, Sergent, Corporal, and Private. xNNx Crusader took first place claiming the Sergent title, a major jump from his previous Grub position. Corporal went to SatansAssassin4 and Private to SnugTasslehoff. Congrats to the winners!

To everyone else, keep an eye on the Gears of War Addict website as we have more tournaments planned. The next tournament will also most likely be a public one.

After 24 hours of gameplay with Gears of War 2, MajorGamer (xXWhoDeyXx85), xHolySchnikiesx, & myself have collaborated to bring you our thoughts on the latest update from Epic. First off, this update has made playing Gears of War 2 much less stressful. While there are still those “WTF!?!” times, they are fewer and farther between. We have decided to break this post into many subsections to cover all aspects of what was included and done well in TU3 as well as what’s still missing. (continue reading…)

As with most others, I was curious what the actual breakdown was of the points to experience points after TU3. As most already know, TU3 added a whole new ranking system based on exp. What most people started to notice was that the points you got in the game did not match the number of exp. points you received at the end of the match. Joe Graf has posted in the Gears of War forums that each gametype was different but that wasn’t good enough. Along with my trusty companion, MajorGamer, we figured out exactly what these ratios were for each gametype and thought we should share them with the rest of the Gears of War 2 playing world. Ok…enough talking…on to the numbers

Using this chart is simple. For every point you earned in the game, you receive the associated ratio of exp. For example, in Annex, one game point is worth 0.23 exp. points while in Wingman 1 game point is worth 1.19 exp. points.

It is also worth noting that there is a 500 xp win bonus, and you get 250 points in Guardian for winning the round as leader without dying.

Update: Experience points earned in-game are now doubled permanently. So with that all the ratios above are double. The Ratios below are the origanl ratios doubled to show the permanent double xp.

It’s official, Just Ask The I.T. Guy and Gears of War Addict are completely united? What does that mean for you? Well, basically it means that the same people will be posting material on both sites and if you become a member of one, you are automatically a member of the other with the same credentials and everything.
