Its official! No more bridging host after TU3 in Gears of War 2

In a recent post on the official Gears of War forums. Joe Graf, lead programmer for the Gears of War series said that to go along with removing the ability to standby or forcing host in TU3, they will also be removing the ability to bridge host. The official post is below.
According to Joe Graf’s Vistor Message, players will no longer be able to bridge to host:

Yeah ppl still bridge, he must of done a full 8 ball of crack b4 testing it… either way, ppl do bridge less and standby does not happen as much, i pray for dedicated servers, but im not a pussy and im not gunna cry about bad connections, use the double shot to your advantage, if you don’t know what double shot is, then keep crying to epic about laggy matches,cuz you fools will never get ahead in gears if you have to have the best connection to play. i’ve played and won the shittiest connections, so suck on that. Give epic a paddle boat when you cry them a river. good luck to all the pussies playing MW2 cuz they can’t get a good connection in gears.

It’s out of hand. Clean matches are hard to find. The obsession with rankings and stats will entice the shortsighted player to cheat. A competitive match is fun. A one-sided match is “…A WASTE OF MY TIME AND YOURS.” I’m not witch hunting. I know the difference between normal lag, laggin’ balls, and just plain shenanigans.

Epic are retards. They will NEVER be able to stop people from bridging. All the losers\cheaters are always 10 steps ahead of anyone at Epic.

yeah guess they lied again, just like when they said in GOW2 there wouldn’t be host advantage….lol DEDICATED SERVERS EPIC…….I forgot, Epic is too cheap!

THANK GOD!!! I JUST GOT A UPDATE TO LIGHTBAND INTERNET AND A NEW ROUTER JUST FOR GAMING BUT THE BRIDGERS MAKE IT USELESS!!! ITS VERY NICE TO SEE THAT THEY HAVE FOUND A WAY TO STOP CHEATERS! I EVEN THOUGHT OF GOING AND LOOKING FOR PROGRAMS TO STOP THEM BUT FOUND THAT NONE ARE AVALIBLE. THIS SOUNDS LIKE IT WILL MAKE THE GAME FAIR AGAIN AND LET US SEE WHO THE REAL PLAYERS ARE!!!

People still bridge host even after TU6 I mean it\’s funny and all that the people lag out when they try it speaking of it; On my brother\’s system we had two people lag out i guess they must have been split screening and i guess they must\’ve tried to cancel out our IP address to get it but failed. I mean whoever does bridge host you must not have a life. Play with the big boys/women don\’t try and be a nOOb just because you know your not going to win if the enemy team has host.

epic need to let poeple decide wether to be host like gears 1 and let us pick what maps we want to play gears 1 was the game we all loved it was the game but they allways av to change it and it makes it worse.every gears of war fan said they would love to choose to be host or join a friends game but u cant do that epic if u bring out gears 3 like gears 2 no one will by it the cheats av mest it up let us choose.
