As with most others, I was curious what the actual breakdown was of the points to experience points after TU3. As most already know, TU3 added a whole new ranking system based on exp. What most people started to notice was that the points you got in the game did not match the number of exp. points you received at the end of the match. Joe Graf has posted in the Gears of War forums that each gametype was different but that wasn’t good enough. Along with my trusty companion, MajorGamer, we figured out exactly what these ratios were for each gametype and thought we should share them with the rest of the Gears of War 2 playing world. Ok…enough talking…on to the numbers

Using this chart is simple. For every point you earned in the game, you receive the associated ratio of exp. For example, in Annex, one game point is worth 0.23 exp. points while in Wingman 1 game point is worth 1.09 exp. points.

We also tested winning vs. losing to see if there was a win bonus but in all of the instances there was no definitive difference in the scoring ratios. The only variation we were able to find was a few 10,000ths of a point and there was no trend pointing toward those few extra or fewer 10,000ths being attributed to a win or loss.
