Well it appears that the rumors of Gears of War 3 and an announcement from Epic Games’ Cliff Bleszinski have turned out to be true. It looks like we’ll have the next Gears of War (and final chapter) this time next year. It appeared on the Xbox 360 dashboard today. The announcement (which has been deleted) confirmed the game for an April 2011 release.

The Gears of War 3 announcement mostly serves as official acknowledgment for what we already know; that Gears of War 3 exists and that it’s launching April 2011. This announcement was more than likely set to go live following Cliff Bleszinski’s appearance on Jimmy Fallon, but the timing was never reset after he was bumped by Justin Bieber.

Bleszinski is set to appear on Jimmy Fallon’s show this Monday, so we’ll likely get our first real look at Gears of War 3 then. Until then, consider this one confirmed.

The latest batch of classic 360 games to join Microsoft’s Xbox Platinum Hits includes the original Gears of War. The platinum version of Gears will include all the DLC available for the game on Xbox Live.

Named “Game of the Year” by over 30 media outlets, Gears of War is the definitive third-person shooter and one of the most popular Xbox 360® games in history. Gears of War: Platinum Hits comes complete with every map pack, game mode and Achievement ever released on Xbox LIVE.

After some suggestions(Dinokiller999) we have decided tonight May 8th we will be having a GWA Game night, so get your friends and invite your fellow Clan mates to some Gears, Left 4 Dead, Call Of Duty 5, or whatever you want! Tonight is the time to have some fun and get to know clan mates if you want. Here is a list of some clan members to invite. If they are on, invite them up and have some fun. Also after some suggestions(IXIxE4LxR4WxIXI) GWA has decided to have a “Clan practice session”  Saturday May, 9th to any one wanting to participate in the Gears Of War Addicts Gamebattles team. The team has not been set yet, GWA does not really have a set time for this “event”. If some of the clan members are on and you would like to scrimmage against them in some Gears of War 2 go for it! More details to come on how GWA will go about setting the gambattles roster, but for now we can alway use some practice

Fantastic news for all you legit gamerscore whores out there. Thanks to a recent post by Stephen Toulose, Microsoft’s official banhammer, we learned that Microsoft is resetting the gamerscore for those who have used a glitch to unlock some of the achievements in Gears of War 2. The post read:

“I’ve been quiet lately because I’ve been heads down on some work stuff.  Today my team is issuing Gamerscore resets due to some people cheating up achievements in Gears of War 2.  We’re going to be hitting the most egregious offenders first while we investigate the full set of people who have done it.  More information on Gamerscore Resets can be found here.
 
Now, we do this on a periodic basis and I always get asked the same questions because I know a lot of people like to boost, etc.  We tend to issue resets for a very clear set of actions that users take to get achievements without even playing the game. So those of you boosters, if you’re not glitching or doing other things in violation of the Terms of Use, don’t worry. Also to be clear, this isn’t any type of bug or issue caused by Gears of War 2, it’s just people cheating their profiles to toggle a specific achievement they didn’t actually earn.

This week, we’re actually posting the Gears of War Addict Member of The Week on time. For this week’s member of the week, we chose a member who has definitely spend the most time playing with members of the clan this week. Both in Gears of War 2 and other games, he was willing to play and help. He helped both XxWhoDeyxX85 & XHolySchnikiesX  beat the final boss in Resident Evil 5, played constantly this week, and was just all around sociable the entire week. This week’s Member of The Week is none other than our first and only Corporal, DeMoNiC NiNjA62 formerly known as SatansAssassin4.

We’ll base our decision on all sorts of things such as, who was most active on the website, who played the most, most improved, sportsmanship, among other things. These nominations will be taken into account when we are making the decision.

This week’s member of the week was a tough one for the chairmen of Gears of War Addict. We were able to narrow it down but ultimately there were two members that we couldn’t decide between. After a lot of deliberation and debate of simply flipping a coin to decide, we made a decision. We decided to have two members of the week! These two members are both relatively new to the Gears of War Addict clan yet have already shown their loyalty and are great players. As most know, during the tournament, we had some issues with some little kids to say the least. These two members stood up for the clan and for the decision of the chairmen to disqualify the players. They were ready to go to battle with and for Gears of War Addict and in a way did, verbally / textually. Both of these members brought a new member to the clan this past weekend. Both were great sports during the messy tournament we held this past weekend. Are you starting to figure out why we couldn’t pick between the two?

With that, I would like to congratulate both Gizmoh & Slade Kechara on being the second member of the week for Gears of War Addict. Congrats to you both!

Our first Gears of War Addict Member of The Week is SnugTasslehoff. Snug was pretty impressive this week. Snug spent a lot of time playing in general and with all of the clan members. After coming in third a week ago in our first Gears of War Addict tournament, Snug played enough to be in the top 500 on annex on Gears of War 2. Snug is a great player and I look forward to pwning more n00bs with him in the near future. Congrats SnugTasslehoff!
